The organizing committee of the maiden edition of Africa Gospel Awards Festival – AGAFEST has on Saturday, March 30, 2019, honoured Archbishop Duncan-Williams and Elder Mireku.
The event which took place at the Action Dome, off Spintex Road, had the founder and Archbishop of the charismatic church, popularly known as Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams honoured for the Archbishop of Excellence Awards. A citation was presented to him for his outstanding contribution to the body of Christ over many years in Ghana, Africa and the world at large.
Elder Kwasi Mireku, a gospel minstrel was also honoured with a citation for the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding pedigree in the music scene.
His ministry spans over four decades with forty albums to his credit. An elder of the Church of Pentecost, his contribution towards the propagation of the Gospel through music has influenced many across the globe.
His devotion to the music ministry over the years was recognized and awarded with “A Lifetime Achievement, a well-deserving honour for a lifetime devotion to the service of humanity through gospel music.
He also performed his rich and unique rendition of gospel songs on the night as one of the rich line up of performers.
With over 20 major performing artiste across the continent and 33 categories to be awarded, the event witnessed inspiring ministrations from Tim Godfrey (Nigeria), Joe Mettle (Ghana), Mercy Chinwo (Nigeria), Eben (Nigeria), Afy Douglas (Nigeria), AkesseBrempong (Ghana), KingsKid (Ghana) and Abathandwa (South Africa) among others.
The Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST) is an award event that recognizes and celebrates talents and hardworking gospel acts, ministry, mission projects, outreach and evangelism, charity works and many more works related to the Gospel across Africa.
