Winner of the fourth season of TV3’s Mentor, Michael Kesse Frimpong, better known by his stage name Kesse has revealed the reason why he decided to quit secular music for gospel.
The secular artiste turned gospel musician said everything went wrong in his life for many years he was doing secular songs.
“When I was a young boy and recently, I normally had dangerous dreams. If you dream about something and you keep dreaming over and over again you need to be very careful. So I informed a Pastor, and he told me there was a calling on my life. He said at the right time God will be using me for his work,” Kesse told Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5FM
He added, “Everything I did in life went bad because of secular music, a lot of people told me my career was dead. There is time for everything, I was once singing in church and didn’t know what was happening to me, and so God told me that, this is the right time” he said on Kasapa FM.
When asked by the host, about why he decided to continue doing secular music, instead of Gospel after series of warning in his dreams, he stated, “I think I was stubborn so I didn’t listen. If you visit my twitter page I have about 70,000 followers on Twitter. So I know that if I do gospel music they will follow me,” he clarified.
Kesse, who was also the first runner-up in the Season 2 of Project Fame West Africa days after he declared his stance to fully commit his ways to God and do gospel music has received backlashes from the public. The backlashes are as a result of an uncountable number of popular personalities who come out only to denounce the secular world when they are no more enjoying the public mileage.
But, Kesse who have accepted the criticisms from the public in good faith said his decision is sacred.
Kesse after confirming his decision to quit doing secular music has sealed it with a new gospel tune.
His new gospel song titled ‘Mehu Yesu’ talks about he not going back to his old ways especially as he has seen the light and taken God as his Lord and personal saviour.
