The Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfuor, has accused Member of Parliament for Lower Manya constituency, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi of inciting the United Krobo Foundation to go on rampage and fuel tension in the area.

“He [MP] behind the United Krobo Foundation and the group is responsible for all the tension inciting the populace to go on that tangent fueling violence against PDS and the call for locals not to pay their bills. Okletey cannot tell me that he’s not aware of such group, because he won’t go that far to even fight for bail for them when they were arrested,” he told sit-in host Akwasi Nsiah on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

He earlier charged security personnel deployed to the area to arrest members of the group known as the United Krobo Foundation which he accuses of fueling the conflict.

Mr. Darfuor said the group must face the law.

“Some people call themselves United Krobo Foundation – complete illegality and they collect fees, amass wealth and use the fees to disturb the peace in the Krobo land. I am charging the security agencies to round them up. They should be rounded up so they face the law.”

But the MP in a rebuttal on Kasapa Fm dismissed the allegations by the Regional Minister suggesting that he’s acting in concert with the group to fuel tension in the area.

He stated:”For his information, the United Krobo Foundation was formed by NPP members, how can I be supporting an NPP group?

He added: “He should stop inciting the rest of Ghana against krobos; We’ve been paying bills from time immemorial, it’s only in 2017 that these problems started. Its about the quantum of billing. Locals have complained of the customer service at PDS that they don’t get the warm reception anytime they go to their offices. Let me make it clear that i did not incite anybody to go on the street, i only wrote a petition to the PURC. ”
