Citizens of Koforidua and its surroundings took to the streets to take part in the fifth edition of ‘Jog & Walk’ to keep fit.

The event which was organized on African Union Day, Saturday, May 25, 2019, saw hundreds of people engaged in an approximately 12KM walk from the Central Business Centre in Koforidua through to the ObouTabri mountain which ended at Dadi’s Bar.

The Chief Executive of Rich Rastas, Richmond Asare Larbi, the organizers of the Jog & Walk urged participants to pay attention to their health and also embrace the initiative as it has become an alternative for people to keep and maintain their fitness.

“Since there is limited time for majority of us to train, the best we can do as a unified body is to hug ‘Jog & Walk’ and make it our own festival and also use it to manage our health conditions,” he said.

Participants also took part in aerobics at the end of the walk and the services of health practitioners were engaged to offer free health consultations and screening for participants especially the aged.

The participants consist of mostly the youth saw among them some Municipal Assembly delegates actively engaged in the fun-filled fitness walk.

According to the organizers, indigenes are required to keep themselves updated for the next edition of the ‘Jog & Walk’ keep fit.

The ‘Jog & Walk’ keep fit which is a National Health Insurance Authority, Joy Industries Limited and Rich Rastars collaboration are considering all possible means to make jogging and walking part of the people of Koforiduaand its environs.
