About One hundred and twenty(120) BECE candidates in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region who were struggling to get some tools to write the examination which kicks- off nationwide today have been provided swift support by a government Appointee at the New Juaben North municipal Assembly, Evelyn Owusu Dansoa by providing mathematical sets to the students.

The beneficiary BECE candidates are in Suhyen M/A, SDA, Mpaemu and Asikesu Junior High Schools -all in New Juaben North Municipality.

Headteachers of the schools noticed parents of the candidates were not able to buy the Mathematical Instruments for the candidates despite consistent reminder hence call for assistance.

Evelyn Owusu Dansoa also NPP Women Organizer at New Juaben North constituency mobilized resources to provide the items to the candidates.

She told Kasapa News, “as a Teacher and former Invigilator I know how distractive lack of mathematical set can bring to a candidate at exams center. Sometimes they have to wait for another candidate nearby to finish using their tools before they pass it on creating a whole lot of confusion. That is why I decided to help these candidates”.

Evelyn Owusu Dansoa who’s also vying for NALAG’s 2nd Vice Chair position urged the candidates to desist from examination malpractices but do their best to pass the exams to enable them to benefit from the Government’s flagship program -Free Senior High School program.

Ghana Education Service (GES)in February 2019 revised the date for the writing of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School Candidates rescheduled the examination to June 10 to 14, 2019 instead of the previously announced date of June 3 to 7.

This was contained in a letter signed by the Director General of the GES, Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, and copied to the Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh and copied same to Regional, Municipal and District Directors of education.

“Management of the GES wishes to inform you that the revised date for the BECE for School Candidates is 10th to 14th June 2019. The revised date supersedes the 3rd to 7th June, 2019 stated on the 2018/2019 academic year school terms and holidays for basic schools,” the letter addressed to all metro, municipal and district directors of education said.
