Some assorted items worth thousands of Ghana Cedis have been donated to Nectar Foundation, an orphanage home in Krobo Odumase of the Eastern Region.
Items presented include; bags of rice, sugar, drinks, biscuits, gari, sugar, toiletries, milk, books, pencils, pens, clothes among others.
Presenting the items at a short but colorful ceremony, Ohemaa Cindy said, that the move forms part of her social responsibility which is to put smiles on the faces of needy children through her “reach out to the needy” tour of the country.
She explained that the planned “reach out to the needy” tour is aimed at supporting the poor vulnerable in the society, especially children who are currently seeking shelter in various orphanage homes.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Ohemaa Cindy also encouraged others to emulate her kind gesture by showing benevolence to the poor and weak in the society to help make the world a better place for all.
She said the items presented will help relieve these children from stressful situations and difficult times that they are currently being faced with.
On her part, mother of the home, Mrs Frederica Akufo, expressed her profound appreciation to Ohemaa Cindy and her team and also called for more of such supports.
About Nectar Foundation
The Nectar Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) initiated and founded in 2002 by Reverend Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Felix A. Anyasor (late).
The mission of the foundation is to provide food, shelter, health needs and education to the vulnerable and children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
The foundation is currently supporting over 20 children between the ages of 8 and 21.
