The Police Officer who shot rubber bullet into a rampaging crowd injuring an Asante Kotoko fan on Sunday has been interdicted, Kasapa News has learnt.

A statement released by the Police in the region said:”The officer has been interdicted on the instruction of the Regional Commander, pending investigation.”

The interdiction is to make way for investigation into the action of the Police Officer involved in the shooting.

A fan of Kumasi Asante Kotoko was shot in the eye by Police on Sunday after chaos broke out following the defeat of the Porcupine Warriors by Berekum Chelsea.

The victim who hasn’t been named yet was subsequently seen in a video circulating being rushed in a police ambulance to the Komfo Anokye teaching Hospital and later transferred to a private facility for CT scan at Petase.

The GFA in a statement said “it has zero-tolerance for violence, and in accordance with our regulations, and will deal ruthlessly with any official or club that is found to have breached our GFA Regulations and GFA Disciplinary Code.”
