The CID of the Central Regional Police Command has arrested suspect Isaac Eshun also known as Nana Nyeiku VII, the owner of Zen Filling Station where a robbery attempt took place on Wednesday, to help in investigations into the murder of G/L/Cpl. Kingsley Boahene of Mankesim District.

Crime scene investigation conducted by the Regional CID with its Crime Scene Management Team working in conjunction with Crime Scene Management Team from the CID Headquarters found out that the spent cartridges retrieved from the murder scene are suspected to have been fired from the shotgun and pistol belonging to suspect Isaac Eshun.

The deceased police officer was found in a supine position in a pool of blood dead wearing blue shorts with a white top.

The murder scene is about 400 metres from the filling station both along the Mankesim-Kumasi motor road.

Central Regional Police spokesperson, DSP Irene Oppong who confirmed the arrest indicated that effort is underway to arrest a second suspect to assist with investigation.

Meanwhile, suspect Isaac Eshun will be put before court.

One pistol and one shotgun belonging to suspect Isaac Eshun have been retrieved and same retained for evidential purposes. Investigations are still ongoing.

This comes barely 24hrs after the Inspector-General of Police, James Oppong Boanuh announced a reward of GHC10,000 to anyone with credible information leading to the arrest of those who shot and killed L/Cpl. Kingsley Boahene.
