A 10-year-old hawker has met her untimely death after a Tipper truck with registration number GM 2312 – 21 crashed her at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
The deceased identified as Hawa according to information gathered by Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan was crossing to the other side of the Mankessim to Cape Coast Highway when she was unfortunately run over in the middle of the road.
The incident happened on Monday, May 6, 2023 in the morning.
The deceased, a Mango seller was rushed to the Mercy Women’s Catholic Hospital at Mankessim for immediate attention but passed on.
Her body has been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle has been arrested assisting Police with investigation.
Residents have expressed worry about the increasing cases of vehicle knock down in the area and called on the Highway Authority to provide speed ramps to avert road crashes and prevent deaths.
