Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi, the winner of Miss Ghana 2019, has appealed passionately to Ghanaian journalists, bloggers and critics to channel criticisms toward making Ghana Africa’s Tourism hub.

In a speech delivered at the launch of Miss Ghana 2020, the 27 years old Beauty Queen admitted that she has had a lot of privileges under the Miss Ghana Foundation.

“Through this journey, I have had a lot of privileges and I must admit that it has been under the commitments, hard work and tactical discipline of Exclusive Events, amongst others.

“I have become tougher and more focused through it all (even including the criticisms and mockery from the media).

“Thankfully, Miss Ghana foundation remains focused on its beauty with a purpose agenda, which is for the benefit of the larger society. I helped with series of charity events such as blood donations, Scoliosis, Kids Bazaar, Donation to Orphanages etc,” she noted

Kwabi’s earnest appeal to the media was in regards to the several bad-mouth the brand has received from the public with no proof.

She pleaded with the media to focus on how they would use their platforms to project Miss Ghana as a tourism hub just as they did for ‘Year Of Return’.

“In all these, I am appealing to the Ghanaian media to further support the Miss Ghana Foundation and Exclusive Events Ghana Limited – to sell Ghana – in our bid to make Ghana, the “African Tourism hub”.”

The Miss Ghana Foundation, a registered charity arm of the Miss Ghana Beauty Pageant over the years, past Miss Ghana queens have taken up different social projects that help transform and positively impact lives of the most vulnerable or less privileged in society.

The 2019 Miss Ghana Beauty Queen urged the media to be positively aligned in order to project the Miss Ghana Foundation brand to win the Miss World title for the country.

“Every organization has its challenges but the media seems to often-feed too much on negatives rather than helping to project the positives that would help the cause of our dear nation. Ghana can also win Miss World, once the media plays its rightful role in positively projecting Ghana. I believe we can!” Kwabi added

Miss Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi also urged young ladies to make use of every opportunity the Miss Ghana brand offers to them to become a better person and to positively impact society.

“To every eligible young lady of Ghanaian origin- take this unique opportunity presented by the upcoming auditions. Maximize your potentials as a contestant, regional or National Queen and become a better person through this opportunity to support others in your small way.”

Exclusive events, organisers of the Miss Ghana pageant have officially launched the 2020 edition of the pageant at the Tang Palace in Accra on January 29, 2020.

Organisers also announced that the audition for the next queen to wear the Miss Ghana crown and take up social responsibilities will take off soon.

Under the Miss Ghana Foundation, the Miss Ghana pageant has, over the years, carved an impressive niche as that pageant generates awareness on various socio-economic problems, collaborates with government institutions and corporate firms in sending relief to various deserving communities across the country.
