Security Expert, Adam Bonaa has claimed that President Akufo Addo was forced to move out Bryan Acheampong from the Ministry of National Security due to the “deep cracks” between him[Bryan] and the National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaah.
The President on Thursday, February 13, 2020 reshuffled Bryan Acheampong who served as the Minister of State at the Ministry of National Security, to the Ministry of Interior, as a Minister of State.
While the Deputy Minister of Interior, Henry Quartey has been moved and is now the Deputy Minister of the National Security.
A statement signed by the Communications Director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin on the new changes didn’t assign reasons.
But in an interview on Joy FM monitored by Kasapafmonline.com, Adam Bonaa alleged that Bryan Acheampong’s move was solely based on the leakage of the widely circulated video of Hon. Kan Dapaah in which he had a raunchy chat with a lady believed to be his girlfriend.
“…You did ask a question as to whether it had to do with the Short Commission, no. It rather has to do with…my own sources, the intel I’ve picked indicates it has to do with deep cracks among the two National Security Ministers. You know when the leakage of the infamous Kan Dapaah tape came out there was a rumour out there that it was a setup. And so there’s been deep cracks and so I believe the President in order to get that crack mended needed to move Bryan Acheampong.”
Adam Bonaa added: “But I would have wished that he’ll make him a deputy Minister or otherwise. But as it stands now we can only hope that he’s able to do what is expected of him at the Ministry of Interior because it is one of the important ministries in this country.”
