A former Police Detective and a Security Analayst, Samuel Nana Appiah has called out Security Analyst Dr. Adam Bonaa accusing him of having a penchant for attacking the reputation of Heads of Security agencies he does not get favours from.
Samuel Nana Appiah alleged that Adam Bonaa is attacking the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) simply because he failed to land a contract with the security agency.
Dr. Adam Bona has called on the Speaker of Parliament to institute a probe into the conduct of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) in the ongoing controversy regarding the stash of money found in the house of former Minister Cecilia Dapaah.
In a video posted on social media, the security analyst said a bipartisan parliamentary probe into the matter will help to unearth the truth about EOCO’s conduct in the matter and other happenings at the anti-fraud office.
“I’m calling on the Right Hon. Speaker of Parliament to institute a probe into the Cecelia Dapaa cash saga. I have a feeling EOCO is not telling us the truth. I now can say with certainty that EOCO has also become the headquarters of corruption. There’s the need to investigate what happened between these two institutions under the executive; EOCO and Special Prosecutor are all under the Attorney General and so to have EOCO being handed the file to investigate this under money laundering which falls under them and to have them come back to tell us that they couldn’t do anything about it is mind boggling and so as citizen and not a spectator I will ask Parliament to institute a probe into them,” he noted.
“There are a lot of things going on at EOCO that some of us find unfortunate. The boss of EOCO is not telling Ghanaians the truth, she is telling us half truths about the money we are talking about.”
But Samuel Nana Appiah who is the Executive Director of the Global Intelligence and Security Analysis Center (GISAC), in an interview with Bonohene Baffuor Awuah on Ghana Kasa on Kasapa 102.5FM accused Adam Bonaa of acting out of hatred and bitterness.
“Adam Bonaa went to EOCO Executive Director, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah to help him raise money to support his friend who was running for political office. The woman to him that he’s not in a position to help him. Since then he developed hatred for Maame Yaa Tiwaa. I can say this on authority and I have Maame Yaa Tiwah’s permission to say it. This behaviour of his which as a country we need to call him out is that, anytime he does not agree with you or get favours from you he will immediately want to find case and begins to taint your good reputation.
“He did the same thing to the former IGP Asante Appeatu. He went to him to seek for a contract to supply Body Cams for the Police Service but he couldn’t get the contract and he fell out with the then IGP. He did the same thing to former IGP Oppong Boanuh. He approached him for a contract and when he was turned down, from then he waged a strong attack and accusation on the performance and person of IGP Oppong Boanuh. So, that is Adam Bonaa, when he does not get favours from you, then you are the greatest enemy of the state. Why and how can we allow such thing to go on as a country. He calls himself as a Security Analyst or expert for that matter, why would you live with this kind of attitude?
“What are the series of cases he has witnessed at EOCO for him to conclude that, that is the headquarters of corruption in Ghana? This is not a mere allegation and you cannot throw words out there without substantiating it. I disagree with him and I want him to withdraw this statement and apologize to EOCO. This is the same institution you Adam Bonaa in July 2023 praised to the whole world that it is a fantastic institution and doing so well. Why the sudden turn and why the unfounded allegation at this particular moment. After you requested for some favours and you were turned down, the institution has become your greatest enemy and you attack the personality of the head of that institution. This behaviour is bad and he should desist from it” Samuel Nana Appiah admonished.
Meanwhile, several efforts to get Adam Bonaa to respond to the allegations leveled against him proved futile.
