President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will today Thursday, February 20, 2020 deliver his fourth State of the Nation Address in Parliament, in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.

President Akufo-Addo is expected to itemise sector by sector the general health of the country and outline policies and programmes to facilitate the country’s socio-economic development in his second State of the Nation Address.

The sectors to be covered in the address will include health, agriculture, education and energy.

Touching on the educational sector, President Akufo-Addo is expected to update the country about the implementation his government’s flagship programme, the Free Senior High School (SHS) education policy and the restoration of the teachers and nurses training allowances.

On the agricultural sector he is expected to speak about how far his administration has gone with the Planting for Food and Jobs Programme.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians want the President to tell the nation how he will effectively deal with the illegal mining menace which continues to plague the country despite the efforts made by the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining.

Others want him to speak about how he’ll reduce youth unemployment which continues to be at a high rate.
