President Akufo-Addo is scheduled to meet local pharmaceutical companies today, Monday, March,16,2020 over talks to contain the spread of the deadly covid-19 virus in the country.
The President will host these entities in an adhoc meeting at the Jubilee House later today.
This comes in the wake of the temporary ban on all school activities and selected social,public and religious gatherings following the confirmation of 6 confirmed covid-19 cases in the country.
The government has announced that over 150 contacts have been traced to the 6 cases of coronavirus patients recorded so far.
According to health officials, it’s making frantic efforts to reach out to these contacts so as to take the necessary measures to c heck the spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, the President in his national broadcast on Sunday reiterated that the travel advisory issued earlier is still in force.
Following the recorded cases in Ghana, the government has intensified traveling restrictions to and out of the country.
According to the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah travelers from countries with more than 200 confirmed cases have been banned from entering Ghana.
Also, all new travelers into the country henceforth shall undergo 14 days mandatory quarantine.
