President Akufo Addo and his family have tested negative for Coronavirus(COVID-19), his personal Physician, Dr. Petrina Terchie-Ankrah has disclosed.
According to her, a day before the President’s birthday, he, his wife, daughters and all staff of his household were tested for the virus and the results were negative.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra Wednesday, April, 1,2020, Dr. Terchie-Ankrah revealed that other staff in the President’s Secretariat including herself were tested for the virus and the results were also negative.
“As I speak to you now, a total of 99 persons have been tested and the results have come out negative. We continue this process and we hope that everybody will test negative” she said.
“The President is very hardworking, chairing meetings, staying up late so I’m on him to make sure that he’s complying with social distancing. If any of you observe that he’s not wearing the mask, a lot of questions have been asked…he’s observing the social distancing strictly and we make sure that he’s washing his hands frequently and he’s also using sanitizers as well,” Dr. Terchie-Ankrah added.
