The opposition NPP has sought to clarify an earlier story we carried that suggested the office of it’s General Secretary had been ransacked by unknown persons.

In a statement issued in Accra Tuesday, the party said it was the office of Agyepong’s Secretary that was rather tampered with.

“We would like to place on record that at no point in time has the office of our General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, been ransacked,” a statement from Director of Communications, Nana Akomea, read.

The party condemned the act and said it “is indeed regrettable, and all steps to ensure that the perpetrators of this cowardly act are identified and punished are being undertaken.”

The New Patriotic Party would like to place on record that at no point in time has the office of our General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, been ransacked.

Reports that the General Secretary’s office was ransacked yesterday, for which pictures are currently being circulated on several social media platforms, are totally and completely false.

We would like to state, however, that it was the office occupied by the Secretary to Kwabena Agyepong that received some levels of vandalism on the day of Chairman Adams Mahama’s death. This unfortunate incident occurred at a time when emotions at the headquarters had reached fever pitch.

The act is indeed regrettable, and all steps to ensure that the perpetrators of this cowardly act are identified and punished are being undertaken.

…Signed…
Nana Akomea
(Communications Director)
