The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency who doubles as the Communications Minister, Hon Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and disinfectants to the Dansoman Polyclinic in Accra.

The items included Veronica buckets, hand sanitizers, antiseptic liquid soaps, bucket stands, waste bins, face masks among other items were donated to help fight the Coronavirus in the constituency.

Presenting the items to the polyclinic, Ursula Owusu told Kasapa FM’s Akokoraba that the PPE’s are purposely meant to support the frontline health workers at the Polyclinic to help combat COVID-19.

“WE have already recorded 37 positive cases in our constituency as at today. Therefore, our health workers who are at the frontline need to be equipped enough with protective equipment to help facilitate their operations at their request” she said.

She continued that “most of the people who are suspected to have symptoms of the virus are quarantined and samples taken from them at an enclosed area at the Polyclinic of which these personal protective kits will help the frontline health workers who come in contact with such persons to stay safe”

“We all need to continue to observe the precautionary measures by the health officials and avoid the stigmatization on persons tested positive” she furthered.

In receiving the items on behalf of the Polyclinic, the Medical Superintendent In-Charge, Dr Felicia Anderson expressed her gratitude to the Member of Parliament for her support for the health workers in combating the pandemic.

Dr. Anderson took the opportunity to loud the basic equipment and logistics needed at the clinic.
