Global death toll from the coronavirus has surged past 400,000, according to Johns Hopkins University.

At least 30 percent of those cases, or two million infections, are reportedly in the US.

Latin America has the second-largest outbreak, with more than 15 percent of cases.

Meanwhile, over 6.9 million cases have been reported globally.

Ghana’s situation

COVID-19 death toll in Ghana has reached 44, according to the latest figures by the Ghana Health Service.

Ghana’s case count now stands at 9,462 after 294 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, over 90 people who were infected with the virus have recovered bringing the country’s total recoveries to 3,547.
