A two (2) year old boy has drowned in Veronica Bucket filled with water at Kwahu Dwura a suburb of Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.
Samuel Maccarthy’s grandfather of the deceased boy-Yaw Anim told Kasapa News, the boy drowned in the Veronica Bucket in an attempt to fetch water at a time the mother had stepped out of the house.
The boy was rushed to Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw but pronounced dead by the medical officer on arrival
The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command Sargeant Francis Gomado confirmed the incident to Kasapa News when contacted.
He added that the grandfather of the deceased reported the incident at Nkawkaw Police station which detectives proceeded to Holy Family Hospital morgue and found the deceased on a stretcher in a supine position.
After taken inventories directed to retain the body at same Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy while investigation continues.
