The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been sued over its parliamentary primaries after the High Court slapped an injunction on the process.
The Party’s Youth Organiser in Tema West, Joseph Buabeng Twumasi, who secured the injunction, has asked for the clearance of the six aspirants by the National Steering Committee to be reviewed.
Speaking to Fiifi Banson on the Anopa Kasapa Morning Show on Kasapa 102.3 FM, he said there are “simply procedural errors” with the decision, asking for the proper thing to be done.
The case against the party seeks to set aside an announcement made by its General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong in the clearing of a number of aspirants following a steering committee meeting.
“We want the party to as a matter of urgency, constitute a National Appeals Board to sit over the case.”
He said he was confident if the party is able to deal with these anomalies quickly, it will be able to go ahead and conduct the primaries.
