The youth wing of the Upper East Region of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cautioned the National Chairman and General Secretary of the party, Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong not to attend the final funeral rites of the late Adams Mahama.
A communicator of the party in the region, Latif Solomon who sounded the word of caution in an interview on Fiifi Banson’s Anopa Kasapa program on Kasapa 102.3 FM Wednesday said the safety of the two could not be guaranteed at the funeral grounds.
According to him it would be in the interest of the general scribe and the national chair of the elephant family “not to attend the funeral of the late Adams Mahama” because their presence would provoke the anger of the youth to do otherwise.
He said the late Adams Mahama’s family has also cautioned the two leaders not to attend the funeral.
Mr. Afoko and Agyepong have been accused of having a hand in the death of Adams Mahama who was the Upper East Regional Chairman of the elephant family.
A brother of Mr. Afoko, Gregory Afoko, is currently in the grips of the police. He has been charged of murder. Another suspect is said to be on the run.
The final funeral of Adams Mahama comes off this Sunday, June 7, 2015 in Bolgatanga.
