Togo team in the ongoing Under 17 WAFU-B tournament have been disqualified for fielding two players deemed ineligible based on MRI test results.

The tournament which is still ongoing in Lomé, Togo will count as qualifiers for the Total U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2021.

The Cadet Hawks have fielded two players deemed ineligible based on MRI test results.

This decision is made in accordance with article 27.4 of the regulations of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations which stipulates that “if after having carried out the age eligibility test (MRI) for a participating team and a player s ‘is revealed ineligible, the participating team will be disqualified.”

The results of Togo matches are cancelled. Togo, the host country of the qualifying tournament, had two victories from two games, 2-1 against Niger and 3-1 against Benin.
