The vaccination for Frontline health workers and all other health workers will commence today Monday, March 22, 2021 countrywide.

The GHS has disclosed that all health workers in other districts and regions in Ghana will be targeted in the next phase of the roll-out.

The Director-General of the GHS, Dr Patrick Kuma Aboagye explained at a press briefing in Accra on Sunday that approximately 90,000 health workers are being targeted in this next phase of the vaccination programme in Ghana.

This, he said includes both public and private sector health workers and that their names and locations have been vetted and each district will have two sites for vaccination.

He added, “and we are hoping that within a week, or two weeks, all health workers would have been covered across the country.”

Providing details on the country’s continuous vaccination programme, Dr Aboagye disclosed that up to 468 thousand people have been vaccinated as at March, 21, 2021.

Dr Kuma Aboagye said Ghana was still pursuing additional vaccines as well as sustaining the public education on adherence to safety protocols and vaccine uptake.
