A founding member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Enoch Teye (E.T) Mensah has bemoaned was he says is too much indiscipline among the youth of the party.

He condemned the disrespect for elderly politicians by the youth, adding that people should learn to grow in politics.

Asked on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana show if he’s happy still being a member of the NDC? the former National Vice Chairman of the party, responded: “yeah, except these days there’s too much indiscipline among the young people. You remember President Rawlings talking about babies with sharp teeth… and people are not growing. They must be ready to grow because in politics, you’ll go out there to campaign and people look at your own habit. The young people are too much in a hurry, I keep on telling them. When we started doing politics long ago, we learnt at the feet of many masters, K. A Gbedemah party, I was a youth activist and then Imoro Igala’s PNP, Ato Austin and I were made coordinators for many years,” the Member of the Council of State said in the interview on Thursday monitored by Kasapafmonline.com.

Meanwhile, a member of the NDC party, Mr Benjamin Essuman has filed a petition against Enoch Teye Mensah, former NDC Member of Parliament and current Member of the Council of State.

The petition, which was addressed to the National Chairman of the NDC and the General Secretary of the party, was presented to the party’s secretariat at the National Headquarters, Wednesday.

Mr. Essuman in the petition referred to an interview that Mr. E.T Mensah granted on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, on Tuesday 3rd August, in which the former MP and former Minister rubbished the claims of NDC and its National Communication Officer and which claims E.T Mensah described on Metro TV as outright falsehoods.

The petitioner cited provisions in Articles 47, 48 and 49 of the NDC Constitution as legal basis for his action and also grounds upon which ET Mensah must be dragged before the Disciplinary Committee.

He is further demanding that Mr. ET Mensah per his conduct, be sanctioned for what the NDC Constitution describes as ‘anti-party behavior’.
