The Eastern Regional Minister Seth Kwame Acheampong has appealed to the various Assemblies to ensure there is peace as confirmation of the various MMDCEs begins today.

Speaking on Agoo fm today he said four districts in the region will conduct the exercise adding that it is prudent for the MPs and MDCEs nominees to go to the various districts to settle any dispute if any.

“We are starting the confirmation of MDCEs from Okre. If everything goes as planned, four districts are supposed to start i.e Akyiase in the Akyem Abuakwa South District, Akyem Swedru, Bosome, Kotokuman and Akyemansa.

He continued that ‘’I’m pleading with everyone to maintain peace. The placement of the MDCEs is the government’s initiative, a developmental initiative to help the citizens and also develop more trust in the government. All these depend on what is happening in every assembly. I suggest that the MPs and DCEs go to the various districts and settle any dispute so that there will be no need to deploy security personnel for protection because we live in peace and understanding. He told hostess Obaahemaa Yaa Mirekua.

Giving an account on the IGPs visit to Kwahu, the Eastern Regional Minister said “The IGP came because for the past one and half month, your Fm station ( AGOO) made the public aware of the various wrong doings and criminal activities going on. I had a discussion with him and he decided to send some officers in Accra to join those in Kwahu West to help bring to order the various criminal activities and wrong doings. Therefore he came purposely to confirm what was reported to him and also since he’s a son of the land, he came to pay homage to the chiefs of the land.”
