The Headmaster of the St. Charles Liwanga R/C Junior High School has been arrested after he turned himself to the police Saturday morning.
He’s presently being detained to assist with investigations into the drowning of eight(8) students.
The students of the St. Charles Liwanga Junior High School in the Saboba District of the Northern Region drowned on Friday after one of the two canoes they were traveling on capsized on the Oti River.
Eight bodies have been retrieved while a search is ongoing for others missing.
The students, numbering 31 had gone to harvest rice on their headmaster’s farm and were returning to Saboba when the disaster occurred.
