Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko player, Mark Adu Amofah has joined the US Army after two decade of active football.
The ex-footballer last played for Bahrani club FC Sitra, before moving to the United States, where he eventually decided to join the army.
The 34-year-old who has been living in the US after an early retirement from football switched professions and is now with the US Army.
In a photo spotted on Instagram, the Ghanaian-American made the grade for the US Army and pledge his service to it.
Adu Amofah had a good spell in his career while playing for the Porcupine warriors and Real Sportive Club in Ghana with a promising footballing career when he started but injuries and lack of progression in his career resulted in the abrupt retirement from the game he cherished as a youngster.
In his days in Kotoko, Adu Amofah scored over 20 goals for the porcupine warriors before leaving to continue his career abroad.
Adu Amofah represented Ghana at the youth level, playing for the Black Satellites between 2006 and 2007.
