The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has renewed its contract with SIMNET Ghana Limited, after a previous relationship ended the two organisations in court some years ago.

A press statement signed by Brig. Gen. Martin Ahiaglo (rtd), Director General of NLA said: “With of the relationship, SIMNET will operate alongside the existing online lottery service provider, LOTS Services. With the two operators, NLA expects to boost its revenue generation mandate”.

It said NLA is confident that the re-engagement of SIMNET will broaden the retailer penetration throughout the country, and evidently accord its valued patrons visibility and access to NLA’s Point of Sale Terminals (POSTs) with ease.

The two companies had an earlier contract that ended abruptly, and it is unclear what brought the two companies together as the National Lottery Authority (NLA) has re-engaged SIMNET Ghana Limited to provide it with Online Lottery Services.

“NLA takes this opportunity to welcome SIMNET back and promises its cherished Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs) greater efficiency designed to make their businesses thrive,” the statement said.

The NLA has developed many products and services to better serve its customers: among them are the POST Repair and Swapping Centres, which will be established in all NLA regional and district offices as well as selected markets “to ensure proximity of services and deliverables to our cherished LMCs”.

It has also procured new POSTs to boost operations, and therefore all outstanding deployments will be completed this year. Similarly, LMCs with old POSTs will have these replaced.

NLA is again pleased to further announce that Commission payment is now being done within a week after end of the month.

Soon, LMCs will be able to pay wins from their business locations. We would also like our valued patrons to note that since May 2015, winners do not have to wait fourteen days to liquidate their tickets. Tickets can be liquidated within twenty four hours after the draw,” the statement said.

“In the last five months, NLA has introduced two new exciting products — Soccer Cash and Mobile 5/90 — to ensure that our valued patrons are spoiled for choice.”

Soccer Cash was developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to support and promote sports in the country.

“The Mobile Lottery Platform allows our valued patrons to register and download 5/90 Fixed Odds Games Applications onto their smart phones and play the Games using funds from their mobile wallet.”
