Justin Kodua Frimpong has been elected as the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the ongoing National Delegates Conference.

Incumbent, John Boadu who had the massive support of 15 Regional Chairpersons has fallen in the keenly contested polls.

The Legal practitioner, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), polled 2,857 votes to beat Mr. John Boadu who obtained 2,524 votes out of the total 5,556 votes cast.

Ahead of the Polls on Saturday an influential member of the party and nephew of President Akufo-Addo, Gabby Otchere-Darko had projected victory for the incumbent General Secretary John Boadu.

Meanwhile, Serial contender for the National Chairman position of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) Stephen Ayesu Ntim has also been elected as the National Chairman.

Also incumbent National Women’s Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) Kate Gyamfuah has been re-elected after she won a landslide victory.

At the elections held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium, out of the 661 total votes cast, Kate Gyamfuah polled 620 votes representing 93.78%, Ellen Ama Daaku garnered 9 votes representing 1.36% of votes cast while Hajia Sawudatu Saeed secured 32 votes representing 4.84% of votes cast.

Henry Nana Boakye likewise emerged victorious in the National Organizer contest.
