The Minority in Parliament is threatening to boycott any business emanating from the Finance Ministry over failure to release statutory allocations to the District Assemblies Common Fund.
According to the NDC MPs, Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta since 2018 has failed to release 6.2 billion cedis due common fund.
This, they, argue is in breach of the 1992 constitution.
Addressing media after engaging the Common Fund Administrator, Naa Torshie Addo, Minority Chief Whip, Governs Kwame Agbodza disclosed the development has rendered all Assemblies useless.
Ho Central MP and a member of the Finance Committee, Benjamin Kpodo and Ranking Member for the Local Government Committee, Nii Lante Vanderpuije asked the minister to do the needful since MPs are being overburdened as a result of the crippling of the various Assemblies due to lack of funds.
