The Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Education Directorate headed by Mrs. Sabina Aba Wilson has honored Stakeholders who have contributed massively to the education sector in the district.

According to the District Education Director, some of these honoured stakeholders have used their own pocket money to build Classroom Blocks, provided school uniforms, donated Books and other Teaching and Learning Materials, renovated Office of the Education Directorate, provided Computers in some schools and donated funds to address some basic challenges in the Education Directorate and some schools in the district.

Some Chiefs were also honored for their dedication towards Education in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District.

Meanwhile, the 2023 edition of Annual Reading Festival has also kicked off at the same time.

The Reading Festival which is held every year by the Directorate is to test the reading ability of the School Children from Primary to Senior High School in the District.

The Reading Festival was held for schools in seven Circuit in the District including Ajumako, Denkyira, Abaasa, Amia-Baa, Sonkwa, Bisease and Enyanmaim Circuit.

Pupils in Basic Two, Basic Four, Junior High School and Senior High School took part in the event.

In Basic Two and Four category, Ajumako Circuit were the First while Sonkwa and Abaasa Circuit were last in the Competition.

In the Junior High School category, Enyan Denkyira Circuit look the trophy home at the end of the contest, while the Ajumako Mando Senior High School won the Senior High School Reading Festival Competition.

The Annual Reading Festival according to the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Education Director, Mrs. Sabina Aba Wilson has really improved the reading ability of the Pupils in the Basic Schools.

“After almost four years of becoming the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Director of Education, I have noticed an improvement in the Pupil as far as Reading and Writing is concerned.”

Mrs. Sabina Aba Wilson advised parents to take their ward’s education seriously and provide their basic educational basic needs.

She encouraged parents to assist their wards to do their homework always and ensure their wards always read while at home.

Meanwhile, the Paramount Chief of Ajumako Traditional Area Okokodurfo Kwabena Hammah Ababio also appealed to Teachers in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District not to punish students when they are late to school during this raining season.

He said he always fells sad when he sees Pupils running to school in the rain every morning. He then encouraged all Pupil’s to learn hard to achieve their educational goals and aspirations.

Okokodurfo Kwabena Hammah Ababio commended the Education Directorate and hardworking Teachers for the wonderful work they are doing in the district.

The Chief Executive Officer for Abasir Foundation, Dr. Kwesi Asabir promised to support the Education Directorate anytime they knock on his door, adding that he’s committed to help raise the level of education especially at Enyan Amoanda and its community.
