The Minister for Sanitation, Cecilia Dapaah has resigned over the going publications that she own one million dollars and three hundred thousand euros which have been stolen from her house.

This follows an on-going Accra Circuit Court hearing that huge sums of money and other items of the Minister for Sanitation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour have been stolen from their Abelemkpe home.

Prosecution also noted that the incident happened between July and October last year.

A section of Ghanaians are calling for immediate removal of the Minister from office over the development.

However, in a letter dated July 22, 2023 and addressed to President Akufo-Addo, the Minister explained that his resignation is for her to cooperate fully with all state agencies to enable them fully establish the facts.

“I am resigning because therefore I do not want this matter to become a preoccupation of government and hindrance to the work of government at such a crucial time,” she stated.
