The Circuit Court in Accra has jailed a sales representative to 12 months in prison with hard labor for stealing GHc50,900.00 from his business.
Louis Oppong Asamoah, who pleaded guilty simpliciter to four charges of theft, was found guilty based on his own admission and given three-month sentences for each count.
He will serve a total of 12 months in prison, according to the court’s ruling, which was presided over by Mrs. Afia Owusuaa.
The court has also mandated that Asamoah pay his employer back the money.

The prosecuting officer, Police Inspector Wisdom Alorwu, gave the court a brief summary of the case’s circumstances, which included the fact that the complainant, Madam Lydia Fletcher, served as managing director of Densu Industries Limited.
Asamoah, meantime, works as a sales executive for Dens Industries Limited.
The prosecution claims that Asamoah sold 48 units of house polish worth GHc12,480.00 on April 18, 2023.
Again, he sold 48 quantities of mansion polish worth GHC12,480.00 on June 2, 2023, and 40 quantities worth GHC10,400.00 on June 23, 2023.
Inspector Alorwu once more testified in court that Asamoah supplied 60 packages of mansion polish for GHC15,600.00 to customers for a combined amount of GHC50,960.00 on July 7, 2023.
He did not, however, give the Management an account for all the sales made.
Inspector Alorwu, the prosecutor, informed the court that Asamoah was detained after the complainant reported the incident to the police.
According to Inspector Alorwu, Asamoah confessed to the crime over the course of the inquiry and said that he had given the money to his friend Bright Essiamah so that he could travel to Canada.
He was then arraigned and charged with the crime following the inquiry.
