The Ashanti Regional Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Hajia Zeinab Sallaw, who has filed nomination to contest the Asawase Constituency parliamentary primaries has expressed confidence of winning the race.
“I’m winning for sure by His grace, it’s not my power, I don’t normally put things on my own, God is the one who crowns anybody and gives any position, I’m a woman I’ve been praying, I tell God this is what I want and for sure I know Insha Allah he will crown me,” she said.
She added that she has always told the delegates that, her intention is surely to clinch the seat for the first time for the NPP rather than just contesting as a parliamentary aspirant.
Speaking in an interview with Orange News’ Fatawu Bayaga, Hajia Zenaib emphasized that the presence of multiple factions within the Constituency which the other aspirants are affiliated with could potentially hinder their results, therefore she is the ideal candidate to lead the party and bring about effective unity after the primaries in preparation for the 2024 elections.
She said factions have destroyed the image of the party over the years, hence the need to choose a neutral person who will be able to relate with all the groups to strongly build the party towards breaking the 8s.
“People know me very well, clearly I am a unifier, I want to come and unify all the factions, I don’t belong to any camp, that’s the most important thing and this is what Asawase needs, Asawase doesn’t need factions, it is possible that we can win the seat but factions might affect our chances,” she indicated.
The Ashanti Region’s MASLOC boss, said she has contributed her quota to the growth of the party in the constituency and the region at large, therefore it’s propaganda on the part of some persons who claimed she did nothing for the party.
Hajia Zeinab Sallaw highlighted the significant impact of MASLOC in facilitating access to loans for numerous individuals across approximately 10 markets in the Asawase Constituency just like other areas.
Apart from that, she said she has been organizing breast cancer screening every year for constituents as well as helping widows and also providing scholarships to people in the Constituency.
“In terms of personal issues, I’ve done a lot, every year I organize breast cancer screening, every year, I organize widows and support them, scholarships that I have I give them to Asawase, you know as a regional executive we’ve been given slots 2 or 1, anytime I get my slot, I give it to Asawase,” she said.
Hajia Zenaib Sallaw, urged her supporters to remain calm, pray and support her vision in order that they win the upcoming primaries without creating any division among the party.
