Ghanaian Musician, Edem, on Saturday won the award for Best International Act at the 2015 Black Canadian Awards.

He beat six other African acts including South African group Mafikizolo, Davido, Oritse Femi, Teeyah, Yemi Alade and Eddy Kenzo of Uganda to win the award.

“Congratulations to all the nominees, African music has really grown and it’s nice to know it’s now trending in almost every city in Canada,” says Paul Ade, Executive Producer of the Canadian Awards Academy.

This year’s event was held at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, Canda.

Ghana was represented at last year’s event by Samini.
