Following a complaint from the Despite Media Group and Ministry of Information that certain people had invaded the studios of U-TV on Saturday evening, the Police proceeded to the scene and arrested sixteen (16) persons in connection with the incident.
According to a police statement, “they are currently at the Police Station assisting investigations.”
Some sympathisers of the governing New Patriotic Party went to the studio to raise a protest against the United Showbiz programme which many viewers had complained about, following the decision of the producers of the show to discuss politics.
The incensed group members interrupted the show which was being aired live.
