An attempt to change the venue for the NPP national delegates Conference in the Akroso Asene Manso (AMA) constituency of the Eastern Region led to confusion, causing a delay in the voting process for approximately one hour.

Initially, the Salem Presbyterian Basic School was the official venue communicated to the Electoral Commission. However, there was a last-minute change to Akroso Senior High School, which resulted in disagreement among stakeholders.

The issue has since been resolved, and voting is now underway at the Salem Presbyterian Basic School, the originally designated venue.

Approximately 21,233 delegates are expected to cast their votes in the Eastern Region. Following the resolution of the venue dispute, delegates from New Juaben South are now voting at Koforidua Secondary Technical School.

Eastern Regional Secretary of the NPP, Kofi Osei Agyei, and the Regional Election Director of the party, Michael Oteng Adu, spoke to the media after casting their votes.

The NPP’s National Delegates Congress is a crucial event for the ruling party as it will shape the party’s leadership and direction.
