Ghana’s biggest reality TV show, GH Queens, has secured a nomination at the 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMCVA) for Best Unscripted Series.
This nomination is a momentous occasion for Ghanaian television because it is the first Ghanaian reality show to earn this recognition. The show, created by Ghanaian producer and filmmaker, Ayebea ‘BZ’ Darko, offers viewers an unfiltered glimpse into the lives of Efia Odo, Mona 4 Real, Michy Diamond, and Cookie as they navigate their careers in the limelight.
“The entire team is excited to receive this recognition from the AMVCA,” BZ Darko said. “We are grateful for this opportunity to share these stories with the rest of the world”.
Ayebea BZ Darko reached a milestone moment in her career with the launch of the groundbreaking GH Queens Reality Show on Akwaaba Magic, Showmax and GH One in 2021.
As the Executive Producer of the pioneering series, she brought together a diverse cast of talented Ghanaian women, providing a platform for their stories to be heard and celebrated.
Since the airing of Season 2 in 2023, the show has captivated audiences across Ghana and beyond, sparking conversations and inspiring a new generation of entertainers.
GH Queens faces tough competition in the Best Unscripted Series category, going head-to-head with contenders like The Real Housewives of Lagos, LOL Naija and Nightlife in Lasgidi.
GH Queens season 2 is currently streaming on Showmax. To support GH Queens, viewers can cast their votes on the AMCVA website, www.africamagic.tv/amvca.
The 10th edition of the AMVCAs will be held on Saturday, 11 May 2024 in Lagos, Nigeria.
