Two fourteen year old boys have been meted with severe physical abuse and trauma for allegedly stealing a Bluetooth player and mobile phone accessories from one Philip Bontugu at Wassa Atieku, Atiku in the Wassa East District of the Western Region.

The two Daniel Mensah and Stephen Prah, according reports from their family were found on Friday April 12, 2024, tied on a tree with cow dung smeared on them.

They had suffered injuries after they were beaten by a mob with motor chain and electric cables

Mother of one the victims, Sister Akos Florence explained that while asleep around 3am on Friday April, she overheard a mob noise in the town that some thieves had been caught.

Subsequently when she woke up in the morning, she was told that her 14 year-old-son together with his friend were caught by the shop owner, Philip Bontugu for allegedly stealing his mobile phone accessories.

Sister of Daniel Mensah one of the victims, Esther Mensah in an interview condemned the barbaric act meted on the boys.

She said even if the victims had indeed stolen, it was wrong for the shop owner to have put the law into his own hands and have the boys punished.

Esther Mensah therefore demanded justice for the victims.
