The CEO for Tree Crops Development Authority William Quaittoo has raised alarm over what he describes as lack of investment in the cashew value chain.

The development according to the former Oda MP has led to Benin who came to understudy from Ghana on cultivation of the crop now becoming the market leader.

Addressing the media at the end of the 6th Council of Ministers Meeting and Experts meeting of the consultative International Cashew Council, Mr. Quaittoo however disclosed a credit facility has been secured by his outfit to revamp the sector.

He however advocated for imposition of levies on exporters of cashew whom he argued are all foreigners.

According to Mr. Quaittoo the existing regulations do not impose levies or duties on exportation of commodities, a development he argues is negatively impacting the sector.
