The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister-designate Asomah Cheremeh has said he will ensure he creates a favorable market for Cashew growers and also fix a standardized local price that will inure the benefits of farmers.
He said under his watch he will endeavour to put in place interventions to grow the cashew industry and boost returns in line with the vision of the NPP government in the production of cashew.
According to him, the Cashew Development Authority would be established to deal with pricing and taking steps to ensure bumper harvest across-board.
Appearing before the vetting Committee Thursday, February 16, 2017, Mr. Asomah Cheremeh said agric will get the needed attention within the Brong Ahafo enclave to ensure the region takes it’s place as the food basket of the nation.
“Reasonable steps will be taken to make sure that our farmers are given proper incentives and inputs to enhance food production”
To make the region the lead guarantor of food security across the nation, Mr. Asomah Cheremeh said “There will be training for farmers to adopt Spatial techniques in the production of food.
