Three Fishermen have sustained severe injuries while several properties have been destroyed after fire gutted a premix station at Anomabo in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.

Information gathered by Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan revealed that the victims who are also the Premix Committee Members were distributing premix fuel to some of the Fishermen at the center when the incident happened.

It is suspected that the explosion was caused by a woman who was frying fish near the premix distribution center.

In the event, two premix fuel tanks were burnt beyond repairs.

Personnel of the Fire Service had a tough time dousing the fire which was spreading so fast to other structures. Several properties including 5 canoes, Electricity poles, fishing nets among others were burnt.

The injured were rushed to the hospital were they are receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, Nana Mbrabo Dabo I, the Queen mother of Anomabo also advised her Community Members to be conscious when they are distributing premix fuel during day time, and cautioned fishermen and fish mongers against cooking near premix distribution centres.

Police have commenced investigation into the incident.
