The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), in consultation with the Ghana independent Broadcasters Association and other partners has revoked the media blackout imposed on the Member of Parliament for Yendi Farouk Aliu Mahama and (MP) for Awutu-Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson.

The decision was taken after the GJA and its media partners met today, Thursday May 9, 2024 to review the blacklist imposed on the MPs.

The Yendi MP, led by Minister Designate for Information, Fatimatu Abubakar rendered an apology to GJA and also withdrew all legal actions.

It would be recalled that on February 6, 2024, the GJA imposed a blackout on the Yendi MP following an attack on Mohammed Alabira, reporter for Accra based Citi FM during the NPP’s Parliamentary primary.

Addressing a news conference in Accra, President of the Ghana Journalist Association, Albert Kwabena Dwumfor urged all journalists and media houses to comply accordingly.
