Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has charged the clergy to come together to ensure the completion of abandoned National Cathedral project.

The project was expected to be completed in March 2024 but stalled at preparatory level due to lack of funds.

Speaking during an engagement with the clergy, Dr. Bawumia who is the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) underscored the need for the project to continue and called on the Churvh to sit together with government to ensure its completion.

“I think that as it stands now, the church has to come together with government and let us sit down and talk about the way forward for the National Cathedral. The church should come together and let us know the best way forward, how we can get private resources to help us to complete the Cathedral. But I think it is possible, we should not say it is not possible.

“Let is all sit down together and figure out the way forward on how to complete the Cathedral. I think if we all come together we will figure it out. I really believe so. I want us to come together and sit down and see the best way forward to generate the resources to complete because we cannot leave it where it is.”
