Presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) John Dramama has assured stakeholders in the fishing industry that he’ll ensure depolitization of the distribution of premix fuel and other logistics in the country.

Speaking to Fisher folks at the Tema Fishing Harbour as part of his “Ghana We Want” tour, former President Mahama said the provision of premix fuel and outboard motors among others have now become a political scheme by the Nana Akufo-Addo government which has created middlemen in it’s distribution worsening the cost of the commodity.

Mr Mahama further said he will introduce an effective monitoring mechanism where the Navy will survey the ocean to rid off illegal trawlers that usually depletes the fishes in the sea.

He added that he will abolish the closed season for artisanal fishers to enhance their trade.
