A leading member of the Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu has described Member of Parliament for Assin Central as a politician who’s not credible and is unprincipled.

His comment follows Kennedy Agyapong who’s a former Flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) joining Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s 2024 flagbearer, campaign tour of the Ashanti Region.

Ken Agyapong during his campaign ahead of the NPP Presidential primary attacked Dr. Bawumia on many occasions criticizing him for his mismanagement of the economy as the Head of the Economic Management Team.

Addressing his supporters during his ‘’Showdown’’ Walk, Ken Agyapong stated that the NPP lost the 2024 elections in 2022.

According to him, the issue of currency depreciation which spiked in 2022 and the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) were the two main economic factors that caused many voters to make up their minds.

“We lost the 2024 elections in 2022. At the time the Ghana cedi destroyed the hard work of many businessmen, all the way to the tomato seller. Ghanaians will never forget that”.

He explained that “The time the middle class went to court because their monies were lost, and the time the pensioners had their monies gone, Ghanaians will remember that’’.

But commenting on Ken Agyapong’s U-turn to join Dr. Bawumia’s campaign on Ghana Kasa on Kasapa FM, Solomon Owusu described the former as a politician who cannot be trusted.

“He is selfish, untruthful and not a politician that anyone should take seriously. Is Ken Agyapong not that one that told us during his campaign that the NPP has already lost the election because Dr. Bawumia has messed up the economy. So, if he’s part of this campaign, it’s a negative for Bawumia’s campaign. Ken Agyepong’s inclusion in Bawumia’s campaign should serve as an eye opener for Ghanaians to know that politician [politricksians] are not seeking the people’s welfare.

“As a matter of principle, even if Ken Agyepong cannot leave the NPP, he should not be part of the campaign trail. After all the supposed truth he said about Dr. Bawumia and the government, what has changed within these few months for Ken Agyepong to make a 360 turnaround to campaign for Bawumia? Ken Agyapong is not credible. The NPP lacks elders, how can someone rundown the party as Ken Agyapong did and then he is allowed to join the campaign team of the Flagbearer.”

He expressed confidence that the NPP will be voted out of power come December 7 general election due to the government’s abysmal performance as is evident in the country’s struggling economy.
