A 31st minute goal from new boy Bernard Mensah was all coach Avram Grant’s men needed to fend off the Togolese threat.
Ghana’s win was without trouble as Scotland-based Mubarak Wakaso was shown the exit for a bookable elbow offence.
The Black Stars will play Muaritius in Accra on June 14 in an AFCON 2017 first leg Qualifier.
