But for some aggression from locals, a filling station believed to be owned by MP for Ayawaso East, Naser Toure Mahama, would have been completely pulled down by security operatives.
The station, sited at New Achimota in the Ga West Municipal Assembly has no permit to operate, and is built on a waterway, officials say.
The intended exercise had to be stopped halfway after it was met with some resistance. The station’s canopy was however destroyed midway.
The intended demolition is one of several knee jerk efforts being carried out by state officials in the wake of a recent blast at the GOIL Filling Station at the Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
