The Breman Essiam Donkese Annual Festival 2024 has commenced with an inter-schools quiz competition among the schools in the Breman Essiam community in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.

This competition has been organized every year for the past ten years to kick off the Donkese Festival.

The Adontsenhen of Breman Essiam Traditional Area, Nana Okogyefo Akumanyi III, who doubles as the Founder and Leader of the Nana Okogyefo Akumanyi Foundation, encouraged all students in the Breman Essiam Traditional Area to take their studies seriously. She promised to provide scholarships to brilliant but needy students.

According to her, the Nana Okogyefo Akumanyi III Foundation is a non-governmental organization dedicated to assisting needy people in terms of social services and more. The organization has supported many school children with scholarships to further their education to the level they desire.

She urged the children in the community to avoid roaming around at night and to concentrate on their education. Although the participants did their best in the quiz competition, she was not entirely impressed, noting that they seemed relaxed and struggled to answer simple questions.

She expressed her disappointment and advised them to follow instructions from their teachers and parents to acquire the basic skills necessary to enhance their education.

Additionally, the 2024 Donkese Festival Planning Committee Secretary and the immediate past Assembly Member, Vicente Ofori-Sam, explained the motive behind organizing the quizzes during the Donkese Festival. According to him, they aim to measure the learning abilities of the students in the community.
