Fifteen students have been critically injured following a violent clash between Form Two and Form Three students at Assin Nsuta Agricultural Senior High School (ANASS) in Ghana’s Central Region.

The brawl, which took place in the Assin South District, is reported to have been sparked by a sexual encounter between a Form Three student and a Form One student in an unfinished building near the school campus.

According to eyewitnesses speaking to Kasapa News’ Yaw Boagyan, the altercation began when a Form Two student discovered the pair engaging in sexual activity and confronted them. The Form Three student, feeling provoked, retaliated by slapping the Form Two student, leading to an initial fight.

Three days later, the Form Two student reportedly mobilized his friends to seek revenge, resulting in a violent confrontation that left multiple students injured. Some of the victims suffered stab wounds inflicted with scissors, while others were injured by clubs and sticks.

The assistant headmaster, who attempted to intervene, was also severely injured in the altercation.

The police quickly intervened, restoring calm on the school premises. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

Speaking about the incident to Kasapa News, Hon. Bashiru Kwame Amakrah, the Assemblymember for the Assin Nsuta-Bepokokoo Electoral Area, said he is disappointed with this act from the student and has charged the police to work for peace to prevail
